Move over Car Talk!
What do you do after spending 30 years as a nurse? Buy a motor home
and take it easy? Volunteer for the Peace Corps or spend more time at
Curves? Hell no—you start a radio show because you’re passionate about
helping others and terrifically funny!
The Nurses are in…are you?
Is your child running a fever but the doctor can’t schedule an appointment until 2010 because they’re too booked? How about that odd spot on your arm that looks like a strawberry and worries you so much all you can do is sleep during the day but never at night? How about those new “shingles”—we’re not talking about the ones on the roof. What’s a person to do? Fear no more, Nurse Talk™ is here!
They’re smart, funny and sometimes irreverent, but they always have good practical advice for what ails you. No more florescent-lit waiting rooms or old magazines with Britney’s photo on them—and no appointment necessary!
All joking aside—we know health is a very important issue and our fabulously successful and funny RN hosts love giving good advice—but making people laugh…oh it is so rich. It practically makes them shake! Sometimes they’re naughty and sometimes they’re nice but they’re ALWAYS entertaining and informative. And Casey—well she never met a strong opinion that wasn’t hers.
These 30 year vets have experienced it all—they’ve been on the front lines—in the trenches—treating coughs, colds, flu, constipation, diabetes, obesity—and that’s just their own medical history! Nurse Talk™ delivers the goods with heart, humanity and laughter.
Check out USF's very own Shayne Mason on Nurse Talk™!

Bay Area CNL Program Graduates Reach 400-mark
The USF School of Nursing counts over 400 graduates of the Clinical Nurse Leader Master's Degree among our alumni, with many of these leaders forming part of the Bay Area workforce!
The Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) is a nursing role developed in response to the Institute of Medicine's 2000 Report, "To Err is Human." The CNL oversees the care coordination of a distinct group of patients and actively provides direct patient care in complex situations. This clinician puts evidence-based practice into action to ensure that patients benefit from the latest innovations in care delivery. The CNL collects and evaluates patient outcomes, assesses cohort risk, and has the decision-making authority to change care plans when necessary. This clinician functions as part of an interdisciplinary team by communicating, planning, and implementing care directly with other health care professionals, including physicians, pharmacists, social workers, clinical nurse specialists and nurse practitioners.
